The signup process starts by declaring whether you are a single or 'not single' person. If you are single, the app will allow you to find matches for yourself and your friends. On the other hand, if you declare that you are already taken, you can only find matches for your friends.

You will need a working phone number and a profile photo to finish creating an account. There are also questions about your career, education, physical appearance, and preferences, but they are mostly skippable.

However, you can only have a friend on the site if one of your phone contacts have joined Ship. The app encourages people to get more of their friends to join through a referral link that you can send to them through the app.

The Ship App is one of those unique dating platforms in terms of how it works, but it currently does not have enough people to actually utilise this special feature to it.
