Signing up in BeautifulPeople is an easy process. You just need to provide certain personal details such as your birthday, gender, zip code, location, and a nominated username and password. Afterward, you just need to provide a little more information about yourself such as your net worth and sexual orientation. All fields are required to be filled in, and you also need to pick from the following choices what you are looking to gain by using the website. The choices are love, fun, business networking, social networking, or invites to parties and events. You can tick all if that’s really what you are looking for.

Account activation is done via email. You need to access the activation link from your email, and once done, you are required to upload a profile photo. Once you have successfully uploaded one, you will be diverted to your dashboard wherein you will see a timer of the period of your application and the status of the votes casted for you. After 48 hours, the votes you get will determine if you are going to be a member of the website or not.

Once you become a certified member of BeautifulPeople, you would then have access to some of its contacting features such as sending winks and adding users to a ‘Favourites List’.

You can also search members using the search filters or browse through the top categories found on the ‘Members’ page. However, one can only do so much with a free membership. Sending and receiving messages, participating in forums, and live chats are strictly for premium paying members.

Yet to give chance to members who really want to use the site but are unwilling to upgrade their subscription, BeautifulPeople offers them a bonus. Free members can send messages if they undergo an authentication process to validate their identity.

All certified members can also participate in rating applicants. You can vote if an applicant is: ‘Beautiful’, ‘Hmm ok’, ‘No’, or ‘Absolutely not’. The main basis will be their profile photo that will be shown to you in roulette-style. After you vote, you can see the current results of each user’s application on the right side.

Member profiles in BeautifulPeople feature eight main sections:

1. Profile header - This section consists of the member’s profile photo, username, location, height, weight, last login details and the miles of proximity between you and that member
2. Contacting features - Under the profile header are the icons for contacting which are ’Send message’, ‘Chat’, ‘Send Wink’, and ‘Add to favourites’.
3. Photo gallery - If the member has uploaded photos other than his or her profile photo, a photo gallery will be under the contacting icons.
4. ‘I’m looking for’ - This section reveals the member’s intention on why he or she signed up for the dating site.
5. Personal information - This section lists information about a member’s appearance, background, and lifestyle
6. 'About Me' paragraph - A self-written paragraph about the member sits under the personal information section
7. Interests - An optional ‘Interests’ section is at the very bottom of a profile. This lists all interests in hobbies, sports, music, books, and TV shows. If a member does not input his or her interests, this section is removed from his or her profile
8. Sidebar - The sidebar consists of the ‘Block’ and ‘Report’ buttons. Under these buttons, thumbnail photos of similar profile suggestions are displayed.

To edit your profile or add information, you can go directly to your profile and change the fields directly. You can upload photos on your profile and set its privacy settings. You can give other members access to your private photos right on their profiles.

BeautifulPeople has one kind of membership offered in three different duration packages. Having a membership is almost necessary if you are planning to find a partner through BeautifulPeople's platform, as sending and receiving messages is a premium feature. However, BeautifulPeople will allow you to send messages for free if you authenticate your profile and receive a verification stamp. Browsing the events on the ‘Events’ tab in the website is free of charge, so if your main intention of joining the website is to get event invites, a free membership can still give you a productive experience.
