Sign up for free using any of your devices. It will only take around 3-5 minutes to finish the process.  Just supply your email address (Google, Microsoft, or Yahoo), or connect with your Facebook or Twitter account to start the registration.

Create your avatar and make it look like you, or change the style and fashion of your choice. You can buy other clothes and accessories after signing up, so you can use the default items for the meantime. Your username will be assigned to you which you can change later on provided that the username that you want is not yet taken.

Be at least 13 years old to register to the site. Minors should be monitored by their parents when they are using the site/ app. However, as a person of legal age, other members should be mindful that the members they are going to meet are not all adults.

There are several ways on how you can communicate in Habbo. 

The first way is by chatting directly in the room where all the avatars there can read your message. Just type directly on the chatbox and press enter to send the message. A pop-up balloon will appear on above your avatar. You can also read the messages of other members on their own pop-up balloons.

Another way is by clicking on another avatar where you can see the following options: add friend, trade, whisper, give respect, ignore, report, and give hand item. Unlike other regular dating sites, you need to give extra effort into doing some work related to your date.  

The last and most private option is to send a message through Habbo Messenger. Just like regular social networking sites, it would let you send messages to your Habbo friends, whether they are online or offline. You will see if the other member has read the message. Multiple chats can be done at a time, but group chats and messages are not yet available.

It is easy and free to contact other members; however, they are not too responsive when it comes to instant messaging. Chatroom conversations are always a hit considering that the primary purpose of entering the room is to get involved in the discussions.

There are members who would post inappropriate messages to you or the chatroom. If you feel uncomfortable about it, don't hesitate to report it to the support team. Reporting is also your way of protecting other members who cannot speak out for themselves about the foul behaviour of another member.

Take note that Habbo staff may monitor conversations in a chatroom. So even if no one reports an inappropriate behaviour, Habbo may still sanction that member who doesn't follow the Habbo Way.

The profile information in Habbo is not very detailed for security purposes. Not even a member's real name is shown on the site. 

To be able to change your privacy preferences, verify your email to prove that you own the account. With this, Habbo can protect your profile from the fake ones, scammers or hackers.

Buy your furniture, clothing, pets and a lot more virtual items from the catalogue. You can make your avatar experience the life that you wish to experience in real life.

Badges are one of the first things people see when they visit your profile. The more badges you have, the more you can become attractive to other members.

You can invite your real-life friends to join you in playing Habbo, then list them down on your relationship board. However, you can also invite your virtual friends to be on your board too.

For every country, members can use different payment options. For members based in the USA:

Gift cards (Dollar gen), CVS, Obucks); Paypal, Visa and Mastercard, and Paysafe Card

Buy credits only from Habbo's official page, or else, you will be banned. 

The site set a spending limit, especially for minors who need their parent's consent to purchase anything from the site. It differs in every country and payment options.

Habbo subscription needs to be purchased and renewed manually.

If you want to enjoy the game and have access to more private chatrooms, you will need to upgrade your membership. You can choose one of the packages that is best for you. It may cost you a little more than the average amount, but it will give you higher chances of finding someone online.

However, if your budget is a little tight, free membership will do. Since messaging is not restricted to premium members only, for sure you'll meet tons of other members on the public chatrooms as well.
