If you’re Russian, there’s a barrage of ways to register at Fotostrana. You can link any of your accounts on Mail.ru, VK, OK.ru, or Yandex. If you’re from elsewhere, linking your Facebook account will speed up the registration process.

However, if you prefer direct signup, Fotostrana has a pretty straightforward registration. You’ll only need to fill out the form located right at the homepage.

To complete it, provide your name, orientation, date of birth, email address or mobile number, then click sign up. 

The website will then require you to upload a primary photo. You may opt to upload one from your computer or mobile phone or link an image from your social media accounts. 

Supposedly, Fotostrana moderators will check your picture, but during our test, there were no problems. We were able to browse the website, and members were even able to view and rate our display photo.

Once you’re done uploading a photo, the website will prompt you to confirm your account by clicking the link sent via email. Note that your website-generated password will also be included in this message.

Since it is a social media platform, it was quite expected that Fotostrana would have quite a lot of communication features for its members’ enjoyment. True enough, users can spend time doing any of the following activities:

• Messages 

To our delighted surprise, messaging at Fotostrana is free. Apart from exchanging text messages, you can also send funny GIFs plus friendly or suggestive smileys. For added interaction, you may also invite him or her to play a game, attach up to ten photos, and even an audio recording—all for free.

The website also allows you to send virtual gifts in the form of creative stickers or even game items. If you wish to be this thoughtful, you’ll need to pay for your chosen item accordingly.

• Photos 

The platform translates to Photocountry, so expect that there would be loads of images—fun and naughty alike. You can join photo contests or rate and comment on pictures to get more interaction with other members.

• Games 

There’s quite a lot of games you can play at Fotostrana. You get your usual RPG and card games, but for people who are interested in flirting, there’s quite a selection of love-related games. You may even interact with other players through the group chat that will be activated whenever you play. So far, joining one is free, but items and other add-ons will require you to pay accordingly.

• People 

To easily meet members you may find interesting, the website has a tab called “People.” This section doubles as a directory and search filter so you can further select members according to your preference or criterion. You can even add a user you find interesting to your Favourites list, for absolutely no-charge, so you won’t need to search for them again.

Contact-wise, it’s quite easy and fun to interact with others at Fotostrana. However, apart from concerns such as language barrier, the website seems to be most used to find new friends, people you can hang out and have fun with, not potential mates and lovers.

You usually go to a member’s profile to learn more about them, but in this platform, information is limited. 

The only details you’ll see are the member’s photos, name, age, and location. The member may also reveal his or her date of birth, vices if any, sport, and interests when it comes to music, movies, television shows, and hobbies. And that’s all of the information you’ll see.

Granted, messaging is free so you may take advantage and get-to-know the user by just initiating a conversation.

As for the claims regarding bogus accounts, we are inclined to believe that it is possible. It’s quite easy to sign-up, and there’s no verification process apart from the confirmation you’d have to do upon registration.

Suppose you want a little security while at Fotostrana, being a VIP member helps. With your paid membership, you can flaunt your VIP badge (and subtly tell the message that you’re a real account) or browse anonymously with the premium stealth mode.

Fotostrana’s paid subscription is called VIP, and it can cover one week or one month—depending on your preferences and needs.

If you’re a Russian subscriber, there’s a variety of ways to pay for your purchase. For those residing elsewhere, the website accepts payment via credit cards and SMS, that is your country supports the service.

Since the subscription period is quite short, you may opt to renew your VIP membership automatically. To do so, tick the box saying “Renew VIP status automatically” located at the bottommost part before you checkout.
