Registration in Lovoo is quick and easy. It will only take 3 to 5 minutes of your time. If you choose to sign-up with your email, you have to fill out a personal information form. The form will ask you to provide your name, the city you live in, your birthday, and gender. Afterward, you will be asked for your email address and a nominated password. You then have to answer a captcha to prove that you are not a bot.

Most of the time, when the security system of Lovoo detects suspicious IP addresses or mismatched locations of email and IP address, they will ask for SMS verification. When you exit the site to redo your registration, even when you come back to it the next day, you will still be redirected to the SMS verification page. And it will keep doing that for 30 days if you don't verify your profile via SMS. But when all seems fair and clear, Lovoo would just ask for email verification.

Lovoo does not require you to fill out your profile immediately. It allows you to browse the features of the website without a complete profile – not even a profile photo. However, Lovoo will not prioritise your incomplete profile to show up when other members search for other users.

In Lovoo, you can send out hearts to other members for free. Sending hearts will notify the receiver that you are interested in him or her. You can also put interesting users to your Favourites list.

With regards to sending messages, Lovoo standard members get to send one free icebreaker message per day. If you are a paying member, you will have access to unlimited sending of messages, see who went and visited your profile, and who put you in their favourites list.

But before you get to use all Lovoo’s contacting features, you will be asked to complete your profile first. You need to fill in some profile information and upload a decent profile photo.

Lovoo’s “Discover” Feature

The “Discover” feature is a random member search where you can adjust the search filters. The search filters are pretty basic though. You can search depending on gender, age range, and location. However, changing the location is restricted within the different cities or provinces of your country.

Lovoo’s “Play” Feature

Play is Lovoo’s matchmaking game. It is a roulette-type matching wherein members are displayed, and you either have to click the heart for like or X if you want to pass on the user. When you are using Lovoo’s website, you can use your keyboard’s left and right arrows to hit like or pass.

Contacting Security

Lovoo makes it easy for all their users to block offensive users and report them to the admin. In the mobile app, the report button sits on the top-right of every user profile.

Lovoo member's profiles don’t appear as separate pages. Instead, when you click on a member – whether on the Discover or Play page – the profiles appear on a pop-up window. When you view a member’s profile from the desktop version or on the mobile app, the member’s profile photo will take up half of the screen.

Profiles on Lovoo feature limited information about the member. They only show the name, location, age, and if the member is currently online. There is also an ‘About Me’ section in which users showcase who they are through a self-written paragraph. These pieces of information can be seen on the right side of the profile photo when viewed on the web, and the member’s photo gallery can be seen as you scroll down the pop-up profile window.

On mobile, the profile information is placed under the profile photo. The profiles have two tabs – one for the profile photo and information, and one that shows the member’s photo gallery. You are unable to view both tabs if you have not completed filling out your information or uploading at least three photos on your album.

Lovoo has one type of membership which can be availed in 4 different durations – 1 month, 3 months, 6 months, and 12 months. They also offer credits which you can use to send gifts and avail of only the features that you want. 

What’s nice about Lovoo is that you can earn free credits by answering surveys and completing some tasks such as verifying your email or uploading more photos. You also get five additional credits when you log in daily.

Lovoo also allows you to earn money or Lovoo Credits from the app, in exchange with the Diamonds you earn from receiving gifts during your Lovoo Live Video stream to Lovoo Credits or even cash!
